Type Notes
Obverse type similar to other depictions of Julia Mamaea on coins of Bostra (BOS0110-0111).
The reverse type of a bust of Zeus-Ammon was frequently used on the city's coinage from the second century CE (e.g. an example of Antoninus Pius published by Meshorer et al. 2013:149, no.10). Zeus-Ammon also appears in city as a head on coinage (e.g. Meshorer et al. 2013:149, no.4 under Hadrian) and as a full-length figure accompanied by a ram (e.g. BOS0105).
