Title
Ossuary with bilingual inscription for Mariame and three others from Jerusalem (JLM0149)
Description
Limestone ossuary with rosettes and a column with a Greek inscription for Mariame, "of Zacharias," "of El'azar," and "of Simon." The relationship between these figures is unclear and the names were each inscribed by different hands. A Hebrew/Aramaic inscription, "snyyt" appears after the Greek inscription. From Jerusalem, dated to the 1st c. BCE/CE.
